Help & FAQ

Quick answers to your most common questions about ordering, prescriptions, shipping, and your account.

🛒 Ordering

Yes. Contact lenses are FDA-regulated medical devices, and federal law requires a valid contact lens prescription for purchase. You'll upload your prescription at checkout, and our licensed opticians will verify it before your order ships.
No — glasses and contact lens prescriptions are different. A contact lens prescription includes additional measurements (Base Curve and Diameter) and may differ in power from your glasses Rx. You need a separate contact lens fitting. Learn more about prescription differences →
Most prescriptions are verified within 1–2 hours during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm PT). You'll receive an email as soon as your prescription is approved and your order begins processing.
We cannot process orders with expired prescriptions. Contact lens prescriptions typically expire after 1–2 years (varies by state and prescriber). If your Rx is expired, you'll need to schedule an eye exam with your eye care provider to get a current prescription.
Absolutely. Most people have different prescriptions in each eye. Enter your right eye (OD) and left eye (OS) parameters separately at checkout — you can mix brands if needed.
Sign into your account and go to My Orders. Each past order has a quick-reorder option that pre-fills your prescription parameters. You'll still need a valid (non-expired) prescription on file.

📋 Prescriptions & Privacy

Yes. We are fully HIPAA-compliant. Your prescription is Protected Health Information (PHI) and is stored encrypted (AES-256) on AWS S3 under a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA). All access is logged in an audit trail. We never sell your PHI. Read our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices →
During checkout, you'll be prompted to upload a photo or scan of your prescription. Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, PDF, HEIC. The photo should be clear, well-lit, and show the full prescription including your doctor's name and expiration date.
Yes. Under the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act (FCLCA), we can also contact your prescriber directly to verify your prescription. Just provide your doctor's name and phone number at checkout.
Only our licensed opticians access your prescription strictly for verification purposes. All access is logged in our HIPAA audit trail. We never share your prescription with third parties without your consent.
OD = right eye, OS = left eye, SPH = sphere (power), CYL = cylinder (astigmatism), AXIS = angle, BC = base curve, DIA = diameter, ADD = reading addition. Full prescription decoder guide →

👁️ Eye Health & Lens Care

Follow the schedule on your prescription: daily lenses are discarded every night, biweekly every 2 weeks, monthly every 30 days of wear (not 30 calendar days). Never wear lenses longer than prescribed — it significantly increases infection risk.
Only if your prescription specifically approves extended wear lenses (e.g., Air Optix Night & Day). Most lenses should be removed before sleeping. Sleeping in non-approved lenses dramatically increases the risk of corneal infections.
Use a multi-purpose solution approved for your lens type (silicone hydrogel vs. standard hydrogel). Never use tap water, saliva, or saline-only solution to clean or store lenses. Always rub lenses even if your solution says "no-rub." Full lens care guide →
Yes! We carry a full selection of toric lenses including Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism, Dailies AquaComfort Plus Toric, and Biofinity Toric. Guide to toric lenses →
